AAAAANNNDDD...Montezuma takes his revenge!

Yes, poor Scott got hit hard. Spent a full 24 hours in our hotel room - thankfully air conditioned and with a private bathroom. I ran errands to buy water, rehydrating solution, and scrounge extra toilet paper.

I am still disgustingly healthy - lucky for me, at least.

Once Scott was able to keep some liquids down, we pulled out the Immodium and ciprofloxacin. He's feeling fine now, though without much appetite. I'm hungry as ever, so it's a little embarrassing to head to restaurants where I order twenty-seven items, and Scott has some dry toast.

  1. Oh, dear Lord - that day was awful. I threw up so hard I strained the muscles in my back and stomach! I don't think I had any fluid left in my body for most of it. Couldn't even keep water down for more then 10 min. Diarrhea and vommiting I expected from hearing / reading about this, but the pain in my gut was really bad. And this was with a 50mcg/hr Fentanyl patch on: capital P Pain. I wished for death and imagined what hell might be like a couple of times. And I reached a new spiritual awareness of the concept of thankfulness when it was over. Thank you Jesus for seeing me through!

  2. Oh no! That might be Montezuma with the Mayans and Incas and the Iroquois and Comanche and Inuit thrown in for bad measure. We're so sorry! If you have it (or can get it) I've used Pepto as a prophylactic (take it before each meal) and it keeps me well.

I hope you recover! Brother I've been there and it is just pain and dark and wait for Jesus to make you better time.
